Facebook and birthdays
One of the best things about the old Facebook homepage was that it helped me remember birthdays.
Birthdays were listed in a prominent location and I liked that feature. It’s an easy way to make your friends feel special when you write “happy birthday” on their wall and sometimes spend $1 on a virtual gift. This was a simple feature and it even made Facebook actual money!
Now I can’t find birthdays on the new FB homepage. It’s there, but you have to find it. It’s tiny and hidden at the bottom of the page. I don’t see it and I don’t remember people’s birthdays as a result.
Surprisingly, I’m learning that this was an important reason for me to log in to Facebook regularly. Now I don’t login as much. Who knew that something this simple would have been so important to me until it was gone?
Anyway, I’m sorry if I missed your birthday since the new FB homepage launched :-/
I know it’s a lame excuse… but it’s true.
